Star-struck McCarthy hopes to impress Close at Oscars

Jan 25, 2012 | 4:00am EST

McCarthy received her first Oscar nomination on Tuesday (24Jan12) - for Bridesmaids - and she was thrilled to learn Close had also received a Best Actress nod for her role in Albert Nobbs.

Now, she has her sights set on a second red carpet meeting with the Fatal Attraction star after getting tongue-tied when they met at the Globes earlier this month (Jan12).

She tells, "I hope I can figure out something else to say to Glenn Close other than, 'Holy s**t, you're Glenn Close.'

"I just think she makes beautiful, smart, perfect decisions in her characters and roles she plays. She looms very large to me. If I get to re-meet her, I hope I say something that's not as jacka**-y."
