SAG Awards Accepting Submissions

Sep 03, 2003 | 9:55am EDT

Because the Academy Awards will come a month earlier next year (Feb. 29, to be exact), the entire 2003 awards season process is speeding up.

The Screen Actors Guild announced Friday it will start accepting submissions for the 10th annual SAG Awards nominations starting Wednesday, Variety reports, with nominations being announced Jan. 15.

With the actor's permission, producers, studios or networks, agents, managers or press representatives may submit a performance for consideration. Actors also may submit their own performances.

Nominees for performances in five film categories and eight television categories, including the unique ensemble awards, will be chosen by two panels of the 4,200 SAG members across the United States, Variety reports.

Final deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. (PST) Nov. 19. The kudocast airs on TNT on Feb. 22 from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center.
