Redgrave & Corden triumph at WhatsOnStage Awards

The veteran star was honoured with the Best Actress award for her turn in Driving Miss Daisy, while Corden was presented with Best Actor for his acclaimed role in One Man, Two Guvnors at the ceremony, who celebrates the best in West End theatre.

Corden's play also landed two other gongs - Best New Comedy and Best Supporting Actor for Oliver Chris.

The stage adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic kids' book Matilda also enjoyed a successful night - the production won Best New Musical, Best Choreographer and Best Set Designer.

Shrek the Musical earned Amanda Holden and Nigel Harman Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor in a Musical, while Best Actor went to Richard Fleeshman for Ghost The Musical.

Best West End Show went to War Horse, which has been turned into a big screen blockbuster by Steven Spielberg.
