The Wall Street star has been serving as the United Nations Messenger of Peace since 1998, and in a bid to generate excitement and support among younger generations, Douglas has appealed to kids aged five to 17 to draw their idea of a world without war.
He says, "I look forward to the day when all of us who inhabit this fragile planet are free from the threat of nuclear weapons. That's why I'm calling on all young artists to use their creative talents to imagine what that world would be like - a world free of nuclear weapons...
"Wherever you live, we want to hear from you. Art is the universal language; art speaks to our hearts and minds; art can make a difference and so can you."
A winner from each age group will be selected in May (12) and gifted with either art supplies or a cash prize.
