Andrew Lloyd Webber's longrunning musical is set for a regional theatre tour in Britain but the first show in Plymouth, England on Monday (27Feb12) has been scrapped to allow the cast more time to rehearse with a new stage set.

A spokesperson for theatre mogul Cameron Mackintosh has revealed Monday's (27Feb12) preview performance at the city's Theatre Royal was axed because "the size and complexity of the production" means the cast will need more rehearsal time, adding, "Several large scenic elements can only be incorporated into the show for the first time on Monday morning."

The musical will officially open at the Theatre Royal in March (12).
