Acclaimed movie Ray has scooped seven nominations for this year's National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Awards, including a best actor nod for Jamie Foxx.

Kerry Washington picked up a best actress nomination for the Ray Charles biopic, and supporting nominations went to C.J. Sanders, Clifton Powell, Regina King and Sharon Warren.

The film, directed by Taylor Hackford, will compete for best movie against another Foxx picture, Collateral, along with Hotel Rwanda, Man on Fire--and Michael Moore's controversial documentary Fahrenheit 9/11.

Usher leads the music category with five nominations, including best male artist, best song for "Yeah!" and best album for Confessions.

The 36th annual Image Awards will be presented on Mar. 19 in Los Angeles.
