Rodney Dangerfield's Widow Sells Homes

Mar 14, 2005 | 8:08am EST

Comedian Rodney Dangerfield's widow Joan has decided to sell the Los Angeles homes they shared, because there are too many reminders of her late husband.

Joan has put her high-rise penthouse on Wilshire Boulevard on the property market for $3.4 million and her home in Little Holmby Estates for $2.7 million.

Since Rodney passed away in October last year, Joan struggled to get on with her life living in the same homes--but she will take lots of happy memories with her when she moves.

The 52-year-old says, "We had such happy times here together, and I am grateful to be taking all of those wonderful memories with me.

"Rodney always thought the (Wilshire) building was too high class for him, and I'm sure the other homeowners will never forget the day he took an inflatable doll to the pool or the time a dozen young women dressed like prostitutes came to the concierge claiming they had appointments with Rodney."

Joan recalls the incident took place because the beauties were auditioning for the role of a prostitute in one of her husband's movies.

The funnyman died at the age of 82 following complications resulting from heart surgery.
