Rosanna Arquette Furious Mature Women Are Ignored

Mar 21, 2005 | 7:32am EST

Actress Rosanna Arquette has launched a blistering attack on Hollywood bosses for adhering to the sexual desires of men--and casting "little girls" instead of mature women.

The sister of film stars Patricia, David and Alexis Arquette is disgusted at the blatant ageism that pushes actresses over the age of 30 out of the movie limelight, claiming women are not allowed to age on the big screen.

And Arquette, 45, wishes the minority of "evolved" men would become the Majority--because they appreciate the presence of older women, and don't just look at female stars as figures of fantasy.

She rants, "Men want girls. Most men want little girls. They want them in film. They want to look at them. They want to f**k them, and that's all they want. An evolved man is not going to look that way. But most men are not that evolved.

"I do resent that when you're in the most cool, powerful time of your life, which is your 40s, you're put out to pasture. I think women are so much cooler when they're older. So it's a drag that we're not allowed to age."
