"Star Wars" Marathon Storms Big Screen

Apr 20, 2005 | 10:20am EDT

The much-hyped final Star Wars installment will get its worldwide premiere in London as part of a movie marathon, featuring all six movies.

The films will be shown back-to-back for the first time in movie history in Leicester Square on May 16 to herald the release of Episode III-Revenge of the Sith.

Just 1,000 tickets--dubbed 'Galactic Passports'--are available for the milestone event.

The showing kicks off at 7:00 a.m., starting with the first Star Wars, followed by The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. Fans will then be treated to an exclusive screening of Revenge of the Sith at midnight.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will play the John Williams score and George Lucas himself will be in attendance.

Producer Rik McCallum says, "The Star Wars movies have a strong connection to Britain so it's very fitting to hold this one-of-a-kind in London."
