The Oscar-winning actress was devastated when her 10-year marriage to Cruise ended suddenly in February 2001.
" >Kidman recalls, "I didn't get out of my pajamas for several months. I didn't want to do my hair. I was like, 'Who cares?'"
The Australian beauty also believed her decision to film Moulin Rouge in Australia, which entailed several months away from Cruise, contributed to their break-up.
Kidman admits she has always had a strong yearning to be loved after a tough upbringing with her mother Janelle.
She says, "The way she (my mother) pushed me to be independent did feel like rejection. She'd say, 'I'm never going to say I love you.'"
