Catherine Zeta-Jones and Sandra Bullock 'Too Old' for Wonder Woman

Jul 27, 2005 | 10:26am EDT

Hollywood beauties Catherine Zeta-Jones and Sandra Bullock have been dismissed as too old to play superheroine Wonder Woman in a new movie version of the TVseries--by the show's original star.

Lynda Carter, who starred in the original 1970s show, would prefer to see Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon cast a young actress in the lead role rather than any established stars who have been linked with the part.

She says, "It should be an unknown actress who's about 20."

The O.C.'s Mischa Barton and Tom Cruise's fiancee Katie Holmes are said to be amongst Whedon's prime candidates for his 2007 release.
