Terrence Howard has beat out a host of Hollywood stars to be named the Most Valuable Player of the Summer.

With critically-acclaimed turns in Crash and Hustle & Flow, as well as supporting role in Mark Wahlberg's new movie Four Brothers, the actor has garnered more attention this year than ever before.

And his efforts have placed him ahead of such established stars as Julia Roberts, Matt Dillon and Angelina Jolie in the list, compiled by Entertainment Weekly.
