As the star-studded 12-day festival drew to a close in France on Sunday, native actress Bernice Bejo led a judging panel in announcing the industry winners during the event's closing ceremony, which saw the 70 year old triumph by picking up the highly-coveted Palme d'Or. Haneke's The White Ribbon previously earned that title in 2009.
Other winners of the evening included Matteo Garrone's satire Reality, which took home the second-place Grand Prize, and Ken Loach's The Angels' Share, which came in third with the Jury Prize.
The winners of the 65th annual Cannes Film Festival were chosen by a jury made up of a slew of celebrities including Ewan McGregor, Diane Kruger, director Alexander Payne and fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier.
