This year's Oscar ceremony has taken one step closer to fruition with the appointment Friday of Michael B. Seligman as executive producer of the 72nd Annual Academy Awards.
Seligman is a veteran of the award's organizing committee, and this is the 23rd time his name has been attached to the Academy Awards. Seligman has served as the show's associate producer the past 22 years.
Seligman has produced more than 250 major television events. His producing credits include "The Annual Primetime Emmy Awards," "The Harry Connick Jr. Christmas Show" and the NBC special "Funny Women of Television."
His upcoming projects include "America's Millennium," a live New Year's Eve presidential celebration from Washington, D.C.'s Lincoln Memorial.
The 72nd Annual Academy Awards is slated for Sunday, March 26, at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium.
