The former Prison Break star was arrested in April (12) for misdemeanour domestic violence amid allegations of a bust-up with his ex-girlfriend Ashley Mattingly at her home in Beverly Hills, California.

Garrison, who is due to stand trial in July (12), was released on Friday (29Jun12) after posting a $50,000 (£31,000) bond - but he's already making plans to head back to prison as a civilian.

Speaking to U.S. website TMZ.com after a court hearing, he said, "I also wanted to ask the judge about being a mentor. That's an education program I was working on... music, movies, writing. There are so many talented artists in there that have no outlet.

"I wanna continue being able to go in there in street clothes, not my blues (prison clothes), not in chains. So that was part of asking him, can I go back in there?"
