The Transformers star pledged his support to the area after it was hit by floods last summer (11), and he was named honorary chairman of a fund established for those left homeless.

He successfully campaigned for a $100,000 grant from Coca-Cola to renovate the city's Oak Park, and now he is setting his sights on winning the contest again to regenerate nearby Roosevelt Park.

In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Please VOTE for ?Roosevelt Park? in my hometown of ?Minot?, ND so they can win $100k from CocaCola & reopen!"
