Sylvester Stallone's son Sage has been found dead in his Studio City, California apartment.
The 36 year old's attorney, George Braunstein, confirmed the tragic news to the New York Post, insisting his client's passing on Friday (13Jul12) is a mystery.
He tells the publication, "He was in good spirits, and working on all kinds of projects. He was planning on getting married. I am just devastated. He was an extremely wonderful, loving guy. This is a tragedy."
Sage Stallone's mother, Sasha Czack, has been told the sad news. His father is currently promoting The Expendables sequel at Comic-Con in San Diego, California.
A statement from the movie star's publicist reads, "Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone. His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man. His loss will be felt forever."
Los Angeles Police Department Commander Andrew Smith tells People.com that reports drugs were involved in Sage's death are premature and the coroner's office will likely spend several weeks compiling a toxicology report.
Smith adds, "It sounds like a terrible tragedy. He was way too young to die. It could have been a heart attack or a stroke."
A representative for the LAPD states, "There is no suspicion of foul play or criminal activity."
Sage made his acting debut alongside his father in 1990's Rocky V but turned down the chance to reprise his role as the movie boxer's son, Robert Balboa, in 2006 movie Rocky Balboa. He also starred opposite his father in 1996's Daylight.
