Country star has legs amputated

A spokeswoman for Grand Ole Opry legend Johnny Russell--whose country hit "Act Naturally" was covered by the Beatles--announced Wednesday that the singer had both legs amputated below the knee as a result of complications with diabetes, according to The Associated Press. Russell, 61, is said to be "doing as well as could be expected."
