Murphy and director Shawn Ryan have developed a pilot, which will feature Murphy as an aged Axel Foley advising his son Aaron, the new Beverly Hills Cop - and it has been picked up by TV executives.
Murphy and Ryan will executive-produce the series, if the pilot is a hit.
