Executives at Film District announced they would be releasing the much-anticipated movie, which starts shooting later this year (12), in 2013.
The film, a Hollywood revamp of Chan-wook Park's cult 2003 film, will star Josh Brolin as a vengeful captive seeking retribution against those who imprisoned him.
Samuel L. Jackson and Elizabeth Olsen will co-star.
Lee will also be screening his new Michael Jackson documentary, Bad 25, at the Toronto International Film Festival.
