Representatives for Prince William and his wife lodged a formal complaint with French prosecutors in the Parisian suburb of Nanterre on Monday (17Sep12) after images of the Duchess sunbathing at a private estate were published in the country's Closer magazine.

The couple later won an injunction barring further publication of the snaps, but on Wednesday (19Sep12) editors at Sweden's Se & Hor courted controversy by printing the pictures and revealing plans to release a 16-page supplement in their sister paper in Denmark on Thursday (20Sep12).

Editor Carina Lofkvist stands by her decision to splash the unauthorised photos all over her magazine, despite the threat of legal action, telling the Associated Press, "It is nothing new to us to publish nude photos of celebrities on holiday."

Authorities have since launched a probe into the French paparazzo who took the shots and the Closer reporter who worked with him to determine whether a crime was committed in obtaining the images.
