The Mask star became a hot topic on social networking websites on Wednesday (10Oct12) after a Facebook.com page titled "RIP Jim Carrey" was set up.
Sick pranksters claimed the 50 year old had "passed away due to a fatal plane crash", but Carrey's representative has since dismissed the allegations and assured fans he is alive and well.
Carrey is the second Hollywood actor to be falsely killed off this week (begs08Oct12) - Johnny Depp was also targeted online on Wednesday (10Oct12).
