Director Bay sued

May 14, 2001 | 8:25am EDT

The director of Pearl Harbor, this summer's most anticipated film, is now in the spotlight for another reason: he's being sued. Michael Bay has been slapped with a lawsuit by screenwriter Mark Pittman, who alleges Bay neglected to include him in the production of a project Pittman originally introduced to Bay. Pittman is suing Bay for $2 million on charges of breach of express oral contract, breach of fiduciary duty and unfair competition over the production of King's Ransom--in development at Disney--which Pittman claims he brought to Bay's attention in 2000.
