Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera and Jason Biggs also took part in the annual charity theatre project, which challenges a group of actors, writers and directors to come up with a script and prepare it for the stage in just 24 hours.

Hudgens appeared in a short play about the "farce of backstage politics", while Wilde spiced the event up by offering kisses to guests who donated $10,000 (£6,250) to the evening's fundraising tally.

Proceeds from the shows, which were held at Manhattan's American Airlines Theatre, will benefit the Urban Arts Partnership, an organisation which supports under-privileged students in New York City and Los Angeles public schools.
