Crooner Tony Bennett performed at the star-studded charity auction at Cipriani to honour those whose philanthropic commitments support the charity's mission to save children’s lives.

Gomez's auction prize of two backstage concert expediences plus a meet-and-greet at her upcoming acoustic concert for UNICEF raised $40,000 (£25,000) for the charity.

Singer Harry Belafonte was honoured with the Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award in recognition of his charitable commitments, while physician Dolores Rice Gahan was presented with the Helenka Pantaleoni Humanitarian Award for her tireless work with sick children around the world.

Actresses Whoopi Goldberg, Vanessa Redgrave, actor Sir Roger Moore, singer Angelique Kidjo and pianist Lang Lang were all on this year's (12) host committee.
