The Little Britain star and his model wife Lara Stone are preparing to become first-time parents, and he is adamant their baby won't be given an odd name.
He tells British TV host Alan Carr, "It's very hard because you have got a long time to think about it. But it's a bit of a curse if you're called Apple or Peaches or something like that. I think we are just going to go with a normal name."
Walliams, 41, goes on to voice his delight about becoming a father, adding, "I'm really excited about it because I've been writing children's books and you get to that age when a lot of your friends have kids and you start thinking, 'When's it going to happen to me?' It's lovely, it's a wonderful thing. We were just thinking about it now we're married and I'm quite old - I'm 41 - so I thought I better get on with it."
He adds of his wife, "Lara is great. I think that a woman is never more beautiful than when she is pregnant."
