Last year (11), the former New York Mets player pleaded no contest to a number of charges stemming from his part in a grand theft auto (GTA) case and was sentenced to three years behind bars.

He has now pleaded guilty to separate charges of bankruptcy fraud and money laundering for removing property from his home and selling on sports memorabilia while he was embroiled in bankruptcy proceedings.

Dykstra has been handed six months in prison, while he was also ordered to pay $200,000 (£125,000) in restitution and perform 500 hours of community service, according to the New York Post.

Sheen previously helped out his friend by posting $150,000 (£93,750) bail for Dykstra following his arrest in April last year (11).
