Al Clark is set to be honoured with the Raymond Lonford Award from the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts in Sydney in January (13).

Clark started his career as a press officer for acts including Phil Collins and the Sex Pistols in London before becoming a producer on films such as The Crossing, starring Russell Crowe, and Absolute Beginners, which featured David Bowie.

He moved Down Under and produced Priscilla, which was a surprise international success and later transformed into a stage musical.

Clark joins previous recipients of the award including Geoffrey Rush and The Truman Show director Peter Weir.
