A vintage guitar once owned by Jimi Hendrix sold for $87,000 at Bonhams & Brooks auction house in London. Hendrix’s onetime girlfriend, Kathy Etchingham, said the rock legend played the Epiphone guitar frequently from 1967 to 1970. “Jimi had music coming out of every pore,” she said at the event, The Associated Press reports. Among the other items sold were a muslin star-and-stripes shirt for $26,000, a black pen Hendrix used to sign his record deal for $5,800 and a set of stacked amplifiers for $41,000. Proceeds from the sale are going to DrugScope, a group that researches drug policy.
