Robert Iler appeared in court briefly Monday to face charges that he and two other teens robbed two Brazilian boys of $40 on Manhattan's Upper East Side but was not indicted, The Associated Press reports.

The teen actor from HBO's hit drama The Sopranos was instead ordered to return to court on July 18 because there had been no grand jury action on the case.

Iler, 16, was arrested Wednesday along with two friends, Michael Cournede, 19, and Alban Selimaj, 16. They pleaded innocent to two counts of second degree robbery. Iler also pleaded innocent to a charge of marijuana possession.

A 15-year-old boy also was arrested, but because of his age he will face charges in Family Court.

Iler, who plays A.J. Soprano on the mob series, was accompanied by his mother and left the court without commenting.

He is willing to testify before a grand jury to give his side of the story, his lawyer said .
