George Lucas is about to send in the clones.
Lucas' previously unnamed Star Wars: Episode II project finally has an official title.
Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones is the full title for the next Star Wars film, which is slated for release in May 2002, according to the official Star Wars Web site.
Attack of the Clones takes place 10 years after the events of The Phantom Menace. The galaxy's heroes are reunited for the first time since the Trade Federation invasion of Naboo.
Now an accomplished Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) and his mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) are assigned to protect Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman), whose life is threatened by a ring of political separatist.
The Lucas-directed Attack of the Clones is the second of the six chapters in the Star Wars saga. It will join The Phantom Menace, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
