The couple, whose divorce will become final on Wednesday, are both expected to attend Tuesday's premiere of thriller flick The Others in Los Angeles, according to published reports.
Cruise produced the film, which stars Kidman as the bible-thumping mother who's doing the best she can raising two kids in a haunted house. Though set at the end of World War II in the Channel Islands, the movie was filmed in Spain.
Kidman moves forward
Kidman talked about her impending divorce Monday on ABC's Good Morning America.
"I'm a person that carries everything that happened to me in my past with me into the future," she said. "I refuse to let it make me bitter. I still completely believe in love, and I remain open to anything that will happen to me."
Kidman did admit, however, that the timing of the premiere is "bizarre."
"But it is what it is. As my dad says: 'Nic, it is what it is, it's not what it should have been, not what it could have been, it is what it is,'" the 34-year old star was quoted by the BBC.
"I'm a woman, a mother, a daughter, a sister, I'm a real person operating in the world. For me to sit here in front of millions of people and discuss the most private thing feels wrong.
"It feels like I am betraying myself and my children," Kidman explained on GMA.
Cruise silent, but Cruz (and Crowe) not
In response to her alleged affairs with Cruise, Matt Damon and Nicolas Cage, the 27-year old budding star said, "This happens to every actor and actress who's in the public eye, and sometimes it goes too far. I don't get angry anymore, because most of those things that they write are lies."
Director Cameron Crowe, though, had a different take on things.
"[Cruise and Cruz] did the rarest thing: They fell in love with [each other] on-screen.... You watch them actually go through that hideous, great, awful, intoxicating moment. Without it, we wouldn't have a movie," Crowe said.
Lending strength to Crowe's words, Cruz's statements to Vanity Fair were made before Kinglsey confirmed that Cruise and Cruz are dating and that the two vacationed together at the Wakaya Club in the Fiji Islands.
Judge Lee Edmon of the Los Angeles Superior Court fast-tracked the divorce proceedings so that it could be finalized Wednesday. Issues of child custody and property won't be decided until October.
