The stars of Doctor Who brought London's famous Trafalgar Square to a standstill on Tuesday (09Apr13) to shoot action-packed scenes for the cult sci-fi TV series. Actor Matt Smith was seen dangling from a blue police box hoisted into the air by a large crane near the iconic Nelson's Column in the middle of the popular tourist attraction. The area was cordoned off, but crowds gathered behind barriers to catch a glimpse of Smith and his co-star Jenna-Louise Coleman as they filmed the show's upcoming 50th anniversary special. Producers are working hard to keep the episode's script under wraps, but a host of past Doctor Who favourites including David Tennant and Billie Piper are rumoured to be returning.
