The Croods stays on top at U.K. box office

Caveman cartoon The Croods clubbed the competition at the U.K. box office to remain Britain's number one film for a third consecutive weekend (05-07Apr13). The DreamWorks animation, which features the voices of Ryan Reynolds and Emma Stone, stayed on top with ticket sales of $3.6 million (£2.3 million), bringing its total U.K. haul to $28.3 million (£17.7 million). Action movie G.I. Joe: Retaliation was still in second place with ticket sales of $1.69 million (£1.06 million), while horror movie Dark Skies debuted at number three after pulling in $1.6 million (£1 million). Rounding out the top five were Danny Boyle's Trance ($1.15 million/£780,000) and Jack The Giant Slayer ($1.12 million/£700,000).
