Apr 12, 2013 | 2:33pm EDT

British soul star Lianne La Havas is keen to shine a light on the talents of rising Australian singer Matt Corby by teaming up with him in the studio. The Mercury Prize nominee recently met Corby, a runner-up on the 2007 season of TV talent show Australian Idol, to discuss a possible collaboration and she's excited to introduce new audiences to his bluesy folk sound. She says, "After South by Southwest (festival in Texas) I went to L.A. and I met a singer that I really, really like, who's called Matt Corby, so I talked to him about maybe singing with him on something, like a duet together. I just think his voice is amazing; it's stunning."
