Pitch Perfect star Skylar Astin is looking to cement his singing career by recording his debut album. The singer/actor, who played Jesse in the 2012 musical comedy, has already written a dozen songs and is enlisting his musician pal Cris Cab to help him in the studio. He tells U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight, "It's in the earliest, earliest stages. I've written about 12 songs on my piano. My really good friend Cris Cab, who is a recording artist, started laying down a track for me as a fun project. So we're going to see where I can take it." The news comes as a double thrill for fans of the movie as Universal Pictures bosses have confirmed the sequel, Pitch Perfect 2, will be released in 2015.
