Actor Michael C. Hall has confirmed reports his TV drama Dexter will end this summer (13). Hall, who plays the titular serial killer, will wrap up the show at the end of upcoming season eight. The actor, who is also an executive producer and director on the show, admits he has been championing a fitting end for his character for quite some time. He recently told EW.com, "I’ve been an advocate for having a dialogue with the writers and getting a sense of how to best bring this story home - not wrap everything up with a tidy bow, but find some sort of conclusion. There has to be an end game." The final season debuts in America in June (13) and the production will wrap in early July (13), and Hall admits he's looking forward to life after Dexter. He says, "I don’t imagine I’ll jump right back into something... I look forward to finding out what life feels like without Dexter." Meanwhile, his fellow executive producer Sara Colleton tells TV Guide magazine, "We know where it's (show) going to end. I want us to go out on a high, and everybody on the show is determined to keep the level of it up to the very end. It's always wise to know when it's time to leave the stage before you're asked to leave the stage." The drama debuted in 2006 and has picked up 25 Emmy and 10 Golden Globe award nominations. During its seven-year run, Hall and his onscreen sister, Jennifer Carpenter, fell in love, got married and divorced, and the actor has also battled cancer.
