Paul Weller and The Strypes perform on Record Store Day

Rockers Paul Weller and The Strypes showed their support for Record Store Day on Saturday (20Apr13) by performing free live gigs for fans. The former The Jam frontman and the Irish band headlined at London's Rough Trade East shop as part of the annual celebration, which was founded to help promote independent record stores. Singer Frank Turner, Steve Mason, Smoke Fairies, Matthew E. White and post-punk band Wire also played short sets at the Sister Ray shop in the British capital. Music fans in both the U.S. and Europe headed to outlets to snap up limited edition vinyl albums released on Record Store Day, which was headed up this year (13) by White Stripes star Jack White.
