Daft Punk have broken previous records on music-sharing service Spotify after fans flocked to listen to their new track. The dance duo released Get Lucky, its first new single in eight years, online on Friday (19Apr13) and it quickly became the platform's most streamed track in history in both the U.K. and U.S. Spotify executive Will Hope says, "There was never any doubt that the first original single from Daft Punk in years was going to be one of the biggest debut singles of 2013. "The robots (Daft Punk) have once again shown themselves to be true innovators, not only with their new musical direction and the stellar cast of collaborators they're working with, but also by undertaking one of the best album campaigns we've seen for some time. "We expect the album to become one of the biggest, if not the biggest, on Spotify this year." Get Lucky features hip-hop star Pharrell Williams. Daft Punk's new album, Random Access Memories, is set for release on 20 May (13).
