Ben Affleck is set to be awarded an honorary doctorate from one of America's most prestigious universities. The Oscar-winning Argo director will be presented with a fine arts degree from Brown University on 26 May (13) in recognition of his acting and filmmaking career. He is one of six luminaries to receive honorary doctorates at the Ivy League college in Rhode Island.
The actor/writer/director, who also won an Oscar for best screenplay for Good Will Hunting, will join professors and scientists in the ceremony. When Affleck was in college during his younger years, he started out at the University of Vermont and eventually moved to Occidental College in LA where he majored in Middle Eastern studies. But he dropped out of college after four semesters.
