A Steinway piano Sir Paul McCartney helped restore has gone back on display at the Motown Museum in Detroit, Michigan. The former Beatle offered to pay for the "unplayable" 1877 grand piano's makeover after visiting the museum in 2011, and oversaw the restoration at Steinway & Sons in New York last year (12). McCartney even tickled the ivories in a electrifying duet with Motown founder Berry Gordy when the piano's revamp was complete. The two music legends performed Motown's first hit, 1959's Money (That's What I Want), which was later covered by the Beatles. Now the instrument, which featured on many soul classics, has returned home to Detroit. It went on show to the public on Thursday (25Apr13).
