Don Cheadle took anti-anxiety medication during filming of Iron Man 3

Actor Don Cheadle took anti-anxiety medication before donning his robot-like suit during filming of Iron Man 3 because he was so claustrophobic. The Hotel Rwanda star, who moonlights as War Machine in the new movie, wore a heavy, blue and red suit of armour in many of his scenes, and Cheadle admits it made for an extremely uncomfortable experience.
During an appearance on U.S. morning show Live! With Kelly and Michael on Friday (26Apr13), he said, “You feel like a turtle. It’s big, it’s heavy, it’s constricting, you can’t touch you’re face, your arms don’t articulate all the way. (If you get an itch) you have to go to a zen place (and) calm down because you’re not scratching. I took all kinds of things (to cope with anxiety because it’s) very claustrophobic.”
But the 48 year old confesses he felt bad for the cleaning crew because he often relieved himself in his costume – when asked how he managed to go the bathroom, he explained, “You just go (in the suit). I don’t have to clean the suit, I just have to wear the suit!”
