A musical adaptation of Sylvester Stallone's Rocky movie has officially found a home on Broadway. The Hollywood hardman, who created and starred in the fight franchise, unveiled the stage version of the classic 1976 film in Hamburg, Germany, in November (12) - and now the show is heading for New York's famous theatre district. Preview performances will begin next February (14) at the city's Winter Garden Theater. Bill Taylor, chief executive officer and producer of Stage Entertainment USA, which is producing Rocky on Broadway with Stallone, tells the New York Times, "The title has very high recognition, so I'm sure tourists will want to see it, but we wouldn't bring it to New York if we didn't think it would appeal to traditional theatergoers. "I'm aware that Rocky might be perceived as an odd choice for a musical, and there will be some raised eyebrows, but I think what people see will not be what they are expecting."
