British actress/model Kelly Brook's boyfriend Danny Cipriani has suffered memory loss since he was knocked down by a bus last week (ends28Apr13) but feels "very lucky" to be alive after the accident. The rugby player was hospitalised after he was hit by a double-decker as he stepped into the road during a night out in Leeds, England, but Cipriani is just grateful he survived the smash. He tells Britain's The Sun, "I can't believe I'm not dead. I'm very lucky. It's just beginning to dawn on me - this nearly had a different outcome entirely. Because of the impact, I've got a bit of memory loss. "I do remember looking over the road where another bus was heading towards a stop, about 30 metres away. As I crossed I got past a parked car, presuming the bus was stopping on the other side. I realised it hadn't stopped and was about to hit me pretty quickly. It was like a reflex reaction, I managed to jump just before the impact so I didn't end up under the wheels. I think my survival instincts must have kicked in. I've since found out the driver was in a real state of shock... I'm glad he's OK." A new photograph has emerged showing a bloodied and bruised Cipriani with his head held in a medical brace, and he adds, "One of my mates took it in the hospital ward waiting for X-rays. I can hardly bring myself to look at it. Kelly was worried, but she's just glad it wasn't worse."
