Robert De Niro has celebrated the grand opening of his first Nobu hotel in Las Vegas. The Hollywood icon teamed up with chef Nobu Matsuhisa to launch the 181-room luxury hotel, featuring a new Nobu restaurant full of private dining areas for celebrity guests. The Nobu Hotel and Restaurant has been operating in trial mode since February (13), but on Sunday (28Apr13) the Raging Bull actor hosted a star-studded party to officially open the doors to his latest venture, which is housed at the Caesars Palace resort in Sin City. British singer Ed Sheeran performed a short set, while illusionist David Blaine amazed guests by appearing to swallow an entire fish tank. De Niro told the crowd, "We are so happy and excited to be here and open the hotel officially. This has been a dream of ours." Other Nobu hotels are to open in London, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
