Scottish actor/comic Billy Connolly has come under fire from fans after launching a foul-mouthed tirade at a photographer during a gig in Ireland this week (begs29Apr13). The Gulliver's Travels star is accused of victimising snapper Valerie O'Sullivan as she photographed his performance at the INEC Theatre in Killarney, County Kerry on Thursday (02May13), despite working with the permission of both his management and bosses at the venue. After a few minutes on stage, Connolly reportedly said, "Will somebody come here and see to this f**king c**t?" reportedly causing O'Sullivan to leave the theatre in tears. Fans immediately subjected the comedian to an online backlash for his comments, but Connolly has refused to apologise for his actions. Taking to his Twitter.com page to comment about the incident, Connolly writes, "I seem to have caused a little ripple on the Lakes of Killarney,by telling a photographer to get the Hell out of my eye line.No regrets... The photographer from Killarney seems to have run to the media weeping about the big bad comedian who gave her a hard time.Boo Hoo." Local politician Michael Healy-Rae, who represents the area in the Irish Parliament, has now called for fans to boycott the remainder of Connolly's Irish gigs until he apologises for his behaviour. He tells Britain's Sunday Mail, "I think he should not get up on stage to do a show again until he apologises. To pick a person out of a crowd like this, to have a great crowd of people and be picked out and ridiculed and insulted in this type of way is totally and absolutely unacceptable."
