British pop star Alexandra Burke has postponed her upcoming residency at London's prestigious Royal Albert Hall due to "overwhelming demand". The Bad Boys hitmaker was planning to perform the soundtrack from 1972 Billie Holiday biopic Lady Sings The Blues, in which Diana Ross played the singer, at the gigs next month (Jun13). However, the six shows at the venue's Elgar Room are now being re-arranged so additional venues can be booked. A statement from the star's publicist reads, "Due to an overwhelming demand for tickets, Alexandra Burke has decided to postpone her June 'Lady Sings The Blues' concerts and reschedule the performances for later this year, at additional venues. "Tickets for the six dates at the Royal Albert Hall's Elgar Room sold out within hours, with many fans disappointed, so these new dates, to be announced soon, will allow more fans to see and enjoy the shows."
