Hands Of Stone walk-on part auction smashes charity target

May 17, 2013 | 1:57am EDT

The producers of Robert De Niro's latest movie Hands Of Stone are giving one budding actor the chance of a cameo in the film to raise money for charity. The highly anticipated movie centres around legendary boxer Roberto Duran, his trainer Ray Arcel, and his unparalleled rivalry with Sugar Ray Leonard, played by R&B legend Usher. Producer Jay Weisleder is auctioning off a role in the film and the chance to meet acting legend De Niro and the Yeah! hitmaker on set. The sale will raise funds for the United States Intercollegiate Boxing Association and Movimiento Nueva Generacion, a community centre in Panama. Bidding on the auction website had already smashed the $25,000 (£16,129) target six days before the auction closes on 22 May (13), pulling in $26,000 (£16,774) by the time WENN went to press.
