Embattled country star Randy Travis has filed a lawsuit against two state agencies in Texas to prevent footage from his August (12) arrest from going public. The singer was taken into custody under suspicion of driving while intoxicated, obstruction and retaliation on 7 August (12), after crashing his truck in Tioga and then allegedly verbally threatening officers who arrived at the scene. Travis, who was naked at the time of the incident, pleaded guilty to one count of DWI in January (13) and was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to pay a fine, serve 30 days in an alcohol treatment facility and perform 100 hours of community service. Now he has taken legal action against Department of Public Safety and Office of the Attorney General chiefs in a bid to keep patrol car video and other evidence about the case under wraps after media groups requested the footage under the Public Information Act. The 54 year old filed papers on Tuesday (14May13), seeking $100,000 (GBP64,516) and a judgement barring both departments from honouring the request, according to local publication the Austin America-Statesman.
