The Big Bang Theory and American Horror Story will be the shows to beat at the 2013 Critics' Choice Television Awards after landing six nominations each. The Big Bang Theory will compete in the Best Comedy Series category against Louie, The Middle, New Girl, Veep and Parks and Recreation, while the geeky sitcom's stars Jim Parsons, Simon Helberg and Kaley Cuoco are also vying for top honours in the comedy acting categories. American Horror Story: Asylum is on the Best Movie Or Mini-Series shortlist alongside Michael Douglas' Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra, while the spooky series' stars Jessica Lange and James Cromwell have also picked up nods. Kevin Spacey is in the running for Best Actor In A Drama Series for his Netflix show House of Cards, facing stiff competition from Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Damian Lewis (Homeland), Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead), Timothy Olyphant (Justified) and Matthew Rhys (The Americans). The third annual Critics' Choice Television Awards will take place on 10 June (13) at the Beverly Hilton hotel.
